Their Challenge
Garage Door Repairs 247, a growing local business initially based in Brisbane, faced the challenge of expanding to multiple cities while competing against larger companies with significant marketing budgets. Their goal was to enter major Australian markets, starting with Melbourne and Sydney, and establish a strong presence using cost-effective digital marketing strategies.
Our Solution
To meet these goals, we developed a strategic plan, starting with setting up comprehensive tracking using Google Tag Manager and GA4 to ensure precise data collection. The next steps included:
1. Google Ads Campaign Setup:
- We created a Google Ads strategy to generate leads by setting up one campaign with separate ad groups for each service offered.
- Initially, we tested keywords, ad copies, and call-to-action strategies over the first three months (from 18 February to 18 April 2024).
- We continuously optimised these campaigns by adding more negative keywords and refining ad copy for better performance.
2. AB Testing:
- In May 2024, we launched an A/B test to determine the top-performing keywords. The top 15 keywords were separated into their own ad groups to maximise results.
3. Dynamic Search Campaigns & Performance Max:
- We also introduced Dynamic Search Ads and Performance Max campaigns to capture more lead opportunities and improve reach across various channels.
4. Landing Page Optimisation:
- The speed and user experience of the landing pages were optimised to increase lead conversions and improve the Google Ads quality score.
The Results
In just 3 months, from 18 February to 18 April, the Brisbane campaign delivered impressive results:
- 560 conversions at a cost per conversion of $43.59.
- A conversion rate of 23.67% was achieved, outperforming industry standards.
- 20.5K impressions and 2.37K clicks were generated, demonstrating strong visibility.
- The search impression share was 55.74%, indicating significant competitiveness in the Brisbane market.
By May, Garage Door Repairs 247 had expanded into Melbourne and Sydney, where we saw:
- Melbourne: 2.49K conversions with a conversion rate of 11.88% and a cost per conversion of $44.35.
- Sydney: 4.97K conversions with a conversion rate of 11.51% and a cost per conversion of $45.66.
The overall account performance from 18 February to 7 August includes:
- 41.9K clicks and over 1.02M impressions, showcasing the reach and scale of the campaigns.
- A total ad spend of $227K, with an average CPC of $5.42.
The Process
- Initial Setup: Tracking setup with Google Tag Manager and GA4 for accurate data collection.
- Keyword and Ad Copy Testing: Launched keyword tests and optimised the ad copy and CTAs.
- A/B Testing: Top-performing keywords were grouped into their own ad groups for focused optimisation.
- Dynamic Campaigns & Performance Max: Expanded campaign reach through dynamic and PMax strategies.
